From the Iron Heart to the Feathered Heart
Dal Cuore Ferrato al Cuore Piumato
The Feathered Heart
Symbolic action
De-structuring the thorny heart and the nailed heart: freeing them from nails and thorns, entrusting them to the water for purification, a merciful cleansing, the activation of forgiveness.
Potenza, River Basento, March 2004

The Feathered Heart 2
Light sculpture
An industrial lamp in red plastic; feathers of dove, white swan, guinea fowl, peacock and lapwing.
After its de-structuring and purification, the Nailed Heart is transformed into a Feathered Heart – luminous, light and vain.
Potenza, March 2004
Inner Strength
Even when we find ourselves immersed in a whirlwind of pain and suffering, we can find the strength to go beyond our personal emotions and feel involved – as a starting point – in collective suffering. Once known and experienced, this awareness can help us overcome our own pain, making us more sensitive to that of others. We can try to live the suffering of the world with joy.

In this way she can communicate important messages effectively, transforming, transfiguring and sublimating personal experience into a universal embrace…
