Out of the Cocoon
Fuori dal Bozzolo
Performance – symbolic action by the artists Teri Volini and anTheòs
Sunday 8 April 2001, at the Liberamente space, Via Murat 7, Milan
The performance is meant as a metaphor of the “rebirth” of the human being, a stimulus to transformation, for a renewal essential to the inner life of each of us.
It aims to highlight the heaviness of the bonds of every kind that wrap around us, preventing a life that is full and truly worth living…
All this is exemplified by the bandages – the Red Ribbon in one of its versions – wrapped around one of the artists, anTheòs, who here represents the human being and in particular the masculine: unaware of himself and of his potential, just as a caterpillar is wrapped in its cocoon… before its transformation into a splendid butterfly.
Only a keener awareness – which in the performance is activated by the artist Teri Volini, signifying both the power of art and that of the feminine – can reawaken the human being and loosen the bonds that constrain him, allowing the possibility of expansion, growth, beauty…
The Cultural Centre made a VIDEO (a short film in digital Betacam) entitled “The Awakening of the Goddess”.
