We in the Universe

Oneness (We Are One)

Into the boundless land of the subtle energies
that bind the living to the universe
we shall enter;
into the rhythmic reflex of expansion and contraction
extending to all vital functions;
into the alternating pulse
– power and emotion – of the double colour;
into the complete Unity of all things;
into the infinite vibration of morphogenetic fields,
organised and oscillating,
perfect rhythm within us
and all around – in the galaxies.
We shall clearly perceive
the dull glitter of interstellar space;
we shall hear the impetuous flow
of reddening blood,
the deep vibration of the vital stream;
we shall contact the fundamental Units
in the labyrinthine paths of the body
and in unlimited spaces;
we shall recognise the original invisible Orders
in the concentrated nuclei of throbbing
organisms;
we shall pass through mitogenetic radiation,
expanding into growing structures;
we shall glimpse the Splendour of Light
in the short frequency of infrared
– the arrow-like penetration of ultraviolet –
we shall see the Infinite Source,
Mirror of Consciousness,
lucid awareness of the Wonderful,
dazzling Identity in the perception of the One.

Teri Volini (translated from the Italian)

A work in synergy with the poem of the same title published in the book UNIVERSI.

Some of Teri’s poems act as a counterpoint to her paintings or performances. Heightening feeling and vision nonetheless leaves the different modes of expression independent of one another: the poems are not meant to describe the other works, nor are the latter meant to illustrate the former. What matters is the balance, the happy union that is created, the synergy that arises, in that attempt to achieve the harmony and beauty at the heart of all Teri’s research.
