Homage to Mother Earth

Poised on the brink of eco-catastrophe,
we find the courage to look at the world with new eyes,
to change our habits, to transcend our limits,
to free ourselves from conventional constraints,
from the usual way of conceiving knowledge and truth.
All that we so deeply long for
– the lost sense of wonder, the sense of connection,
the joyful enchantment before the beauty and mystery of life on earth –
all this is what we must regain.
Let us restore to our hearts and minds
the power that belongs to us,
and allow our cultural evolution to resume its interrupted course.
Let us reconnect with our deepest spiritual roots,
so as to use modern technology
not to destroy, exploit and oppress,
but to free those abilities
that belong to us human beings alone:
the ability to love,
to create,
and to live once more in partnership,
not domination,
with our miraculous planet,
Mother Earth.
