THE SORTED ROOM

The work aims to show how only by activating ecological awareness, and separate collection in particular, can we prevent private and social spaces from becoming unliveable, progressively invaded by the waste we produce.

As an example, a private space in the district, usually used for the cultural events of Teri Volini and the Delta Centre, will be progressively filled with plastic bottles until it is congested.

At the end of the operation – after 15 to 30 days – it will be freed, playfully and consciously, by the artist and the residents themselves, with a symbolic action expected to take place at the end of July.

To contribute to the work, residents and their children will collect plastic bottles (not crushed, and with their caps on) and bring them to the Cultural Centre, piazzale Sofia 21, raised ground floor.

Bottles can be delivered preferably on Sundays, or on other days by phoning 0971 1800129 or 339 24 14 133.

The event, supported so far by ATO1, Acta, the Regional Council of Basilicata and the Municipality of Potenza, will be publicised in the regional and national media; a video will also be produced, together with an exhibition including screenings of video material on environmental themes.
