I am One with the Sun – a work of collective self-awareness

A great, luminous Sun dominates a large outdoor panel.

On it are the colour images of the co-authors of the work.

Each of them carries the printed declaration I AM ONE WITH THE SUN.

At the centre of the composition, the image of a nuclear power station, with the words “Nuclear has expired!” written over it.

The declaration of the magnificent 80 stresses that the future lies in the sun and in alternative energies;

the Sun in its reality as the primary source of life for the whole system of which we are part;

the Sun as the greatest source of energy;

the Sun as a metaphor of luminous wisdom, to be wished upon a Humanity that finally decides to save itself and the planet with fairer choices, neither manipulated nor manipulable.

It is an action in Participatory Art and Body Art.

Through Body Art the participants’ physical body becomes the support on which the message is written, and the privileged means of communicating it more effectively.

Any compromising or instrumental use of the body, as happens in ordinary commercial advertising, is excluded from the outset.
